Synopsis
In 1993, tough-hearted debt collectors Doo-seok and Jong-bae visit a woman who can’t repay her loan. In desperation, she leaves her 9-year-old daughter, Seung-yi, as collateral — a human “pawn.” What was meant to be a temporary arrangement changes drastically when the mother is suddenly deported.
Left with the child, the two men unexpectedly take on the role of her guardians. Over the years, what began as a business transaction transforms into a deep, emotional bond. The unlikely trio becomes a makeshift family, growing together through hardship, laughter, and unconditional love.
