Synopsis
Set in the misty city of Chongqing, The River of Fury follows police captain Feng Taishan as he investigates a series of bizarre murders during the rainy season. The victims all exhibit the strange characteristic of “drowning without signs of struggle,” while the only survivor, Yu Na, is left in a state of amnesia due to trauma.
As the investigation deepens, Feng discovers a close connection between the cases and a missing persons case from twenty years ago, with the key witness being the daughter of his former partner. The film delves into the dark side of human nature, exploring how a lack of love can breed societal epidemics of evil.
