Synopsis
At Willard R. Abbott Public School in Philadelphia, a passionate group of teachers navigates the challenges of underfunded education with humor and determination. Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson), an optimistic second-grade teacher, is eager to make a difference despite the daily struggles.
She works alongside her colleagues: the sarcastic yet caring Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter), the wise veteran Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph), the awkward but well-meaning Jacob (Chris Perfetti), and the new substitute teacher Gregory (Tyler James Williams), who quickly realizes the school is more chaotic than he expected.
Meanwhile, the self-absorbed yet hilarious Principal Ava (Janelle James) adds to the school’s unpredictable nature. Through a mockumentary-style lens, Abbott Elementary delivers heartwarming moments, witty humor, and a heartfelt look at the dedication of public school teachers.
