Synopsis
Government Cheese is a surrealist family comedy set in 1969 San Fernando Valley. The series follows Hampton Chambers, a former convict who returns home after prison to reunite with his family.
However, during his absence, his wife Astoria and sons Einstein and Harrison have formed an unconventional family unit. Hampton’s return disrupts their world, leading to chaos as he attempts to reintegrate and pursue his dreams, including marketing a self-sharpening power drill he invented in prison.
The show blends whimsical scenarios with heartfelt moments, exploring themes of family, ambition, and the complexities of starting anew.
