Synopsis
Lolly Blanchard has come to the conclusion that her life has not turned out quite the way she wanted. She works at the family diner in Lakeville, MN. Her father, Marty, has kept it exactly the way it was when his wife, Lolly’s mother, Irene, passed as her legacy. Lolly always dreamed of opening her own restaurant featuring her own creations, Marty who will not allow her to make any changes to the menu at the diner.
She has a slightly strained relationship with her younger sister Daphne, who has a degree in Marketing but wants to leave Lakeville to work as a yogi halfway around the world.
But arguably her biggest regret is her relationship with long time next door neighbor Rory Shaw, the two who began dating after he was there for her when Irene passed.
She ended up pushing him away when he decided to pursue his dream to get a degree in Sports Medicine at Duke, he who ended up marrying someone else and working as the team doctor for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Now divorced, Rory is back in Lakeville to visit his parents who still live next door, with he and Lolly still seeming to have nothing to say to each other, for Lolly in feeling guilty about her part in their breakup.
