Synopsis
Even with the additional warriors from Lagertha’s new home, Ragnar and Rollo realize they are still outnumbered. Ragnar decides to destroy their winter food supplies to draw out Jarl Borg. He and Bjorn set the grain stores on fire.
The ensuing battle is bloody but Ragnar returns to Kattegat victorious. With the battle won, both Bjorn and Lagertha must decide whether to stay or return to their home. In Wessex, Athelstan recovers from his wounds and seems to be gaining the confidence of King Ecbert. He also undergoes a religious awakening.
